We are an independent bike shop based in Metheringham just outside Lincoln but our customers come from all over the country. If you need something doing, give us a call and we'll try and help. Whether it's OE repairs, motor work or something custom. We even sell complete bikes.

We are everyday regular riders. Our own bikes range from the 'teens' to the 2000's but most of our miles are done on knuckles and pans. Experience includes 10+ years working for the 'motor co' as well as time spent in major US custom shops and all our work is guaranteed.

The 47's interior

A few  pictures of the interior in the 47 Ford coupe, all aircraft like

Buell bottom end

I've been brought a buell lightning engine to rebuild bottom end. The owner has supplied wiseco pistons and carillo rods. They are obviously considerably lighter than the original harley offerings. You can see how much weight from the drillings has to come out. There is also another issue in that rods are wider and longer. Length is not a problem in they are 0.020 longer so careful measuring of piston height etc will have to be measured to gain proper compression and squish. Also angle on piston has to replicate angle in head for proper squish and clearance. Wider rods is a problem though. As crank is done up its biting side of rod, so now rod has to be surface ground to correct width or new thrust washer surface ground for correct fitment and possibly still modify rods to clear rebate in crank. The point of all of this is you can still buy expensive aftermarket equipment that doesn't fit. Everything has to be measured and measured for complete accuracy. Most things can be overcome but not without specialist equipment. The average engine builder wouldn't have a surface grinder. Fortunately for me there is one next door. Prior to this build, this engine has never been balanced despite being rebuilt twice?????? Allegedlly
